How to Become One
- You need to earn either your Psy.D. (Psychology Doctorate) or their Ph.D. You also need a license if you are in Private Practice or if you own your own business. You will most likely also need a license to practice psychology. If you want to conduct research you will most likely need a Ph.D. but if you want to practice clinical psychology then you need a Psy.D. You will need 4-7 years of higher education to earn either.
